It’s not my film

FEATURE

DIRECTOR Maria Zbąska

Our relationship reminds me of the charger cable that dog bit.
Well… it’s still loading”
– says our protagonist – Wanda.

„It’s not my film” is a story that start’s where most of the romantic movies end. We are way past the “they lived happily ever after”. Wanda and Janek love each other, but at the same time they cannot stand each other anymore. Their relationship is going through a constant crisis like most of the long-term relationships. The crisis is not caused by some outstanding event – it’s more of a mixture between everyday-life and boredom. One day, when they finally hit a wall they decide – let’s take a walking trip along Polish Baltic coast. Strict rules – no phones, no whining – just the two of us. If they manage to obey the rules, they will stay together forever but if they fail – they part ways.

Maria Zbąska’s feature debut is a contemporary and intelligently humorous love story. In a time when everything is disposable and easy to replace, Wanda and Janek will attempt to repair a relationship in which not everything is lost yet.

„It’s not my film” represents Poland in the Smart 7 competition organized by seven European festivals. The world premiere of the film took place at the Kino Pavasaris festival in Vilnius, and the Polish premiere – at the Mbank New Horizons IFF. As part of Smart 7, the film is also shown at the following festivals: Indie Lisboa IFF (Portugal), Filmadrid (Spain), Transilvania IFF (Romania), Reykjavik IFF (Iceland) and Thessaloniki (Greece).

It also takes part in the Perspektywy Competition at the 49th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.
